Mission

IRC strives to provide research services tailored to the needs of its clients. IRC views research as a highly interactive process and works closely with project staff in an effort to address issues and concerns as they occur.

In addition, IRC frequently partners with other small businesses and utilizes consultants who specialize in the relevant research area. Such an approach ensures needed expertise at an affordable price.

Dr. Jan Upton, the President and Founder of IRC, has over 20 years of experience conducting applied research on disadvantaged populations (including welfare recipients, high school dropouts, and minorities) and facilitating education reform projects. She received her doctorate in sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill and is the former Director of Planning and Analysis for a private college.
